Type of Park: Off Leash-Fenced Public Park

Surface Area: 4 acres, grass and sand with lake access

Stimulating Activities: Lake access

Cooling: Lake access – no water fountains

Separate Area: none-all one big area

Greenage: A few trash cans with doggie bags but spread out (you have to walk a while to get to them)

Human Comfort: none really, there is a concrete wall that you can sit on.

Location: Inside James Island County Park.  You do have to pay to get into the park $1 per human, dogs free.

Maintenance: no lights, The dog park is closed on Wednesdays from 7 – 9 a.m. for routine maintenance. Hours vary during different seasons: January – April 8 a.m. – Sunset
May – Labor Day 8 a.m. – 8 p.m. September & October 8 a.m. – Sunset November & December 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Membership: No membership fees-but it is $1 to enter the dog park

  1. We would loooove to go to Charleston. We actually put in to move to a base in that area – we’ll see if that actually happens! The dog parks in our area are absolutely terrible. We actually stopped taking the pups because we were having so many bad experiences. I know they miss running around with other dogs.
